How to Measure Your Ring Size

Purchasing your first ring is always exciting, but it can also be very tricky. How do you know which ring will fit you, and what of the many possible sizes you should get? In this guide, we will provide you with methods to get the ring size which will help you choose the best fitting ring.

Measure your finger size at a jeweler or with professional tools (Recommended for Best Accuracy!): If you are looking to buy an expensive ring or a ring that you want to make sure will fit right away, the best approach is to seek a professional measurement. Any jeweler around your town should be able to accurately measure your finger size, or you can borrow a professional ring size measuring set to do it yourself.

Measure the diameter of any other ring that fits: If you have an old ring of yours or you can borrow a fitting ring from your friends or family, you can measure the inside diameter of the ring to get your ring size from the reference chart at the bottom of this page. If you know the size that the ring was bought in, even better! If the ring is slightly too tight or too loose, add a size up or size down to the measured ring size.

Do it yourself method using string and ruler: You can also measure your own finger size with fair accuracy following these steps. It's crucial to execute these steps precisely for an accurate measurement, and we advise repeating the measurement several times or seeking assistance from a second person to ensure accuracy.

1. Take a piece of string (or a strip of paper, or ribbon) long enough to wrap around your finger.
2. Wrap the string around your finger like a ring. You want the string to be firmly wrapped at no angle, however not too tight. If you have large finger knuckles, then you should also measure your finger knuckle size.
3. Mark the string to indicate the ends of the circumference for measurement.
4. Measure the string length between your markings and refer to the chart below.
